Comprehensive Block Preparation

• Hot Tank Cleaning: The block undergoes a deep wash to remove oil, grime, and contaminants, ensuring a clean foundation for machining.
• Sand Blast and Paint: After cleaning, the block is sand blasted to restore its surface finish and then coated with durable semi-gloss black paint for protection and aesthetics.
• Precision Boring and Honing: Boring is completed using a 3-axis CNC machine to guarantee centered bores. A Sunnen SV-10 cylinder hone with diamond tooling is then used to achieve exceptional cylinder finish and sizing accuracy.
• Main Studs, Caps, and Line Boring: Main caps are carefully ground and line bored using custom tooling to factory specifications. This process is followed by line honing to ensure exact journal sizing and alignment.
• Surface Machining: The deck surface is machined using a coated CBN cutter to provide flatness and smoothness critical for head gasket sealing.
• Threaded O-ring Oil Galley Plugs: Oil port plugs are removed and replaced with CNC-machined threaded plugs featuring O-rings to prevent leaks and allow easy future removal.
• Threaded O-ring Freeze Plugs: OEM freeze plugs are replaced with custom threaded and O-ringed plugs tailored to resist leaks and withstand high boost pressures.
