- Hot Tank Cleaning: Thorough washing removes oil, dirt, and grime, preparing the block for machining and assembly.
- Sand Blasting: Restores the block’s exterior by removing corrosion and debris accumulated over years, revealing a uniform satin aluminum finish for improved aesthetics.
- Darton Dry Sleeves Installation: High-strength ductile iron sleeves replace old ones, reinforcing the cylinders for power handling well beyond 400 horsepower.
- CNC Boring and Honing: Using a 3-axis CNC machine for precise boring and a Sunnen SV-10 cylinder hone with diamond tooling ensures perfectly centered, finely finished cylinder bores with sizes ranging from 86mm to 90mm.
- Step Deck Surfacing: The deck surface is machined so sleeves protrude slightly, concentrating clamping force for a more reliable head gasket seal under high boost conditions.
- Oil Port Plug Removal and Upgrades: All oil port plugs are removed for thorough cleaning and replaced with CNC-machined, O-ring sealed threaded plugs for improved sealing and ease of maintenance.
