The Mazworx SR20VE RWD Long Block Stage 1.5SLT is designed as an entry-level rear-wheel-drive variable valve timing (VVL) converted long block engine optimized for daily street use. This refurbished and upgraded setup combines reliability with enhanced performance components, making it an excellent choice for Nissan S13, S14, and S15 chassis applications.

Engine Refinement and Upgrades

The short block undergoes comprehensive disassembly, cleaning, and machining including hot tanking and sandblasting of the block, installation of Darton sleeves, and step decking to ensure durability and precision. Key upgraded parts include CP pistons sized at 89.5mm with a 9:1 compression ratio, BC ProH625 connecting rods, and Calico coated ACL race bearings. Additional enhancements feature a Mazworx main stud kit, threaded and O-ringed freeze plugs, and a billet breather adapter, all assembled with high attention to detail for reliability.

Valve Timing and Cylinder Head Upgrade

The Stage 1S cylinder head is fully reconditioned with a stage 1 port polish, 90mm CNC machined combustion chambers, and a multi-angle valve job. It utilizes high-quality Supertech components including titanium retainers, dual valve springs rated at 83 lbs, and valve stem seals to ensure efficiency and longevity. The head is equipped with Mazworx shimless valve sets and Kelford Racing 184-LT cams tailored for street driving, delivering smooth power delivery while maintaining engine health.

Assembly and Components

Assembly of the long block incorporates premium parts such as the Mazworx/Apexi full grommet head gasket, Mazworx RWD street damper with a 60-2 trigger wheel, timing chain kit, Mazworx adjustable cam gears, and a GReddy high capacity oil pan. The engine also features a billet oil pump pickup and Mazworx timing chain tensioner for robust oil delivery and timing reliability. Cylinder head and valve cover are finished with powder coating and thorough servicing for peak condition.
