Description

This kit allows you to bolt a Z32 transmission to your KA in an S13/S14 chassis. This is a similiar kit we ran in our Drag 240SX.

The kit includes everything:

– machine work

– hardware

– adapter plate

– shifter

– brackets

– one-piece steel driveshaft (can be upgraded to aluminum or carbon)

You source the transmission (90-96 NA or TT) and send us the bellhousing. Then we send you back the kit with a machined bellhousing.

S14s and some S13s require a speedo recalibrator.

Please send the bellhousing with a copy of your order.

I had a great experience with this kit, from start to finish. Lots of choices for driveshaft and, if you have some welding skills, possibly the shifter (to preclude needing to trim the chassis for where the Z32 shifter sits.) Customer service was knowledgeable and thorough in answering everything I had to ask.

The turnaround was quick on everything. Machinework on the bellhousing is superb and the craftsmanship and quality of parts in the kit is top-notch. Everything fit together first try. No issues at all.

Instructions are thorough for taking apart the Z32 transmission and shipping the bellhousing in. It'll fit in a standard 16 cube box and is around 24 lbs, for those wondering. The only thing I can think of as an improvement would be re-assembly instructions for the shell with torque values, but a short lookup at NICO for the Z32 FSM and I had exactly what I needed.

page 331. (23-31 ft-lb for the shell, 12-15 ft-lb for the front cover)

I used a little black permatex after cleaning the mating surfaces really well. Just the thinnest coating will get it done. You don't want a huge bead squeezing out inside of the transmission.

In summary, this is the best kit on the market. Hands down. From being able to retain the KA starter, flywheel, clutch, to the fact that there is no flywheel spacer like some of the other kits require you to use. I can't say enough good things about this kit. One of my favorite mods to date on my S14.

Keep up the excellent work guys!

I bought this kit last year for my project car and I was and am still fairly happy with what transpired as far as quality of MOST of the kit, the shipping times, packaging , and the bell housings’ machine work. With that being said, this shifter bracket design is not up to par in terms of quality and I say that because it’s no where near as good as an LOJ shifter… which I now have had to purchase because the feel of the shifter is honestly garbage in comparison and it caused the shift linkage to fail near immediately which does not surprise me as it felt very binding when installed correctly. Yes it was installed correctly. The kit is great on the other aspects as it does mate the trans to my block, but I had to notch my trans tunnel for no reason when other kits like the LOJ easily fit near center. I want to say this feels like this specific part was outsourced and sub par to the rest of the hardware. I’ve seen ISR produce a better feel shifter.

    TLDR:
Most of the kit is good, shifter adaptation is not worth it. Get an LOJ shifter assembly.
