Comprehensive Block Preparation

• Hot Tank Cleaning: Thoroughly removes oil and grime from the block for a clean foundation.
• Sand Blast and Paint: Sand blasting refreshes the block’s appearance followed by a durable semi-gloss black paint finish for protection and aesthetics.
• Precision Boring and Honing: Bores are machined on a 3-axis CNC machine to ensure centered and straight cylinders. Following boring, the cylinders are honed using the Sunnen SV-10 with diamond tooling for the ultimate surface finish.
• Main Studs Installation and Line Honing: Upgraded ARP main studs are installed. Since the new hardware affects main journal specifications, line honing restores precise alignment and tolerances.
• Coated CBN Surfacing: The block deck surface is milled with precision using a coated Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) cutter to ensure flatness and durability.
• Threaded O-ring Oil Galley Plugs: All oil gallery plugs are removed for thorough cleaning, then CNC machined to accept threaded o-ring plugs. These ensure a reliable seal and facilitate future maintenance.
• Threaded O-ring Freeze Plugs: OEM freeze plugs can leak or dislodge under high boost; our CNC-machined threaded plugs with o-rings provide a secure, leak-resistant replacement.
• Cylinder Honing With Torque Plate: We use torque plates specific to nearly every block we service to simulate head bolting during honing. This process ensures cylinders maintain correct dimensions under operating stresses and is required with sleeve installation or optional on stock sleeve blocks.
• 2JZ-GE to GTE Conversion (Optional): For customers upgrading a 2JZ-GE block, we offer machining for oil squirters and turbo oil feed provisions to convert it for GTE applications.
