The Mazworx BP Block Stage 2 is a precision-prepped engine block upgrade tailored for Mazda BP engines, designed specifically for DIY builders aiming to achieve up to 600 horsepower on a high-performance street setup. Utilizing advanced CNC machining and our state-of-the-art equipment, this package ensures meticulous attention to detail and professional quality in every step.

Comprehensive Block Preparation

• Hot Tank Cleaning: The block undergoes thorough washing to remove oil, grime, and contaminants, preparing it for further machining.
• Sand Blasting & Painting: After cleaning, the block is sand blasted to restore its surface, followed by a durable semi-gloss black paint finish for both protection and aesthetics.

Precision Machining Processes

• Bore: Bores are CNC machined on a 3-axis machine to ensure center accuracy, then refined on the latest Sunnen SV-10 hone with diamond tooling for superior cylinder surface finish.
• Main Studs, Caps, and Line Bore: We perform precise cap grinding and line boring using custom tooling to bore main journals within factory specifications followed by line honing for exact sizing.
• Surfacing: The block deck is resurfaced using a coated CBN cutter to ensure a flat, true surface.

Enhanced Sealing Features

• Threaded O-ring Oil Galley Plugs: Oil port plugs are removed for thorough cleaning and re-machined with CNC tooling to accept our threaded O-ring plugs. These provide a reliable seal and allow easier future removal.
• Threaded O-ring Freeze Plugs: Known to leak or pop out under high boost, OEM freeze plugs are replaced by CNC-machined threaded, O-ringed plugs that ensure a secure, leak-free fit.

Torque Plate Honing for Cylinder Accuracy

Using custom torque plates, we simulate the cylinder head being bolted during honing. This critical step ensures cylinders are honed true under operating stresses, essential for blocks with sleeves and beneficial on stock-sleeve blocks.
