Core Requirements
A virgin core head is required for this service. Customers have the option to send in their existing SR20VE head or purchase a core through Mazworx. For VVL heads, acquiring a complete motor may be necessary to source the head. If interested, please inform us about any additional parts required from the motor to facilitate shipment.
Additional Service Options and Recommendations
- Valve Springs and Retainers: We utilize Supertech dual valve springs paired with titanium retainers. Customers can select the set best suited to their specific application.
- Camshafts: The Kelford 184-T camshafts are recommended for high RPM turbocharged engines. For dedicated race engines, eliminating the VVL lobe is advised to reduce valvetrain mass and improve oil delivery at high RPM.
- Valve Guide Service: The head undergoes a remove, reinstall, and ream process for valve guides, replaced with Supertech bronze guides. This is essential for higher-stage port and polish work.
- Machining for Hall Sensor: If using the Mazworx Hall Effect Sensor Kit, the head can be machined to accept this component.
- Machining for 1/2″ Head Studs: For builds aiming to exceed 600 horsepower, we recommend upgrading to 1/2″ head studs. This service includes drilling the head and re-machining dowel pin locations for proper fitment.
