Designed to support engines producing up to 400 horsepower, this stage 1 block ensures enhanced performance while maintaining strong durability and precision.
Comprehensive Block Preparation
- Hot Tank Cleaning: Thoroughly removes oil, grime, and contaminants to provide a clean foundation for machining.
- Sand Blast Block: Eliminates corrosion and debris from aging blocks, restoring a uniform satin aluminum finish for improved aesthetics.
- Surface Resurfacing: The block deck and front cover surfaces are precision resurfaced using advanced poly-crystalline diamond (PCD) tools to ensure flatness and optimal sealing.
- Oil Port Plug Removal and Replacement: All oil port plugs are removed to allow complete cleaning of oil galleries, then retapped for NPT plugs. The main oil galley is CNC-machined to accept custom o-ring threaded plugs, ensuring a reliable and reusable seal.
- Freeze Plug Upgrade: OEM freeze plugs are replaced with CNC-machined threaded plugs featuring o-rings for a durable and leak-free fit.
- Cylinder Honing with Torque Plate: The cylinders are honed with a torque plate simulating the cylinder head bolted on, resulting in true cylinder dimensions under operating conditions—a critical step especially for sleeved blocks.
- Oil Groove Machining: An oil groove is machined into the main journals (typically GTi-R and VE blocks) to accommodate 5-hole main bearings, enhancing oil delivery to main and rod bearings for improved lubrication.
- Front Main Oil Squirter Upgrade: The OEM timing chain oil squirter is replaced with a threaded, Mazworx-designed unit that prevents popping out and ensures consistent oil flow.
